Downloading Music Files
Now everyone can download SuperKids songs and SuperKids Friends classics in MP3 format. You need an MP3 player to use this feature.
Downloading an MP3 Player
If you don't have an MP3 player, you can easily download one. There are dozens of players available on the internet. It is very easy to find the MP3 player you want and download it. This should take about 15 minutes (at 56K-modem speed). But you will need to quit other open applications and reboot your computer after the download is complete. Windows Player 7.1 is highly recommended. If you don't like this player, you can choose a different one.

6 Basic Downloading Steps
Step 1: Quit all other open programs and applications.
Step 2: On the selected MP3 player's web site, select the download file.
Step 3: Save the download file. You can create a folder for the player on your hard drive and save it there, or you can save it to your desktop--just pick a location that's easy to find once your download is complete. Saving the download file will take a few minutes.
Step 4: Open the download file. Go to the saved download file and open it. This will begin the installation process.
Step 5: Follow installation instructions. When the installation process is complete, your computer will notify you. It may take a little while--be patient!
Step 6: Reboot your computer. Once you have done this, you can download any of the SuperKids songs posted online.
**If you need more help with your MP3 player, the player's web site should offer more specific tips and company contact information.
Already have an MP3 player?
You might already have a default MP3 player on your hard drive--most newer PC and Macintosh models do. An easy way to check is to click on one of the new SuperKids songs. If you do have a default MP3 player on your hard drive, the system will route you to that player automatically.
Downloading SuperKids Songs
Download times depend on the speed of your internet connection.
Here are some rough estimates for downloading a 3 minute song:
- 28.8K-modem: 15-30 minutes
- 56K-modem: 7 minutes
- ISDN, DSL or T1: 1 minute or less
To Download SuperKids Songs:
Pick your song. You can listen to a snippet or a sample of any SuperKids song--this way you can choose to download the songs you like. Previewing a song will let you hear a few seconds of the song, but you cannot save the song until you've downloaded it. You won't be able to replay the song after you've disconnected from the browser unless you've downloaded and saved the selected song.
Set up a folder where you can easily save and find the music you've downloaded. You don't want your MP3s scattered all over your hard drive! It's a good idea to save them all in one, clearly-labeled folder (like, "Music Downloads"). Then you can categorize them by sub-folder if you like.
Download and save the song. There are few different ways to save MP3s depending on how your player is set up. When you click the download link, the song should save automatically, either in a temporary directory or in a personal folder on your hard drive. It's possible that you'll get a pop-up prompting you to "Open the File" or "Save to Disk". If this happens, select "Save to Disk" and your computer will ask you where you want to save the file.
If you've downloaded songs that you can no longer find, don't panic. Your browser will often save by default to a temporary folder. Use your computer's "Find" command and type in "MP3" for the file name. By searching "All Directories" your computer will locate MP3 files on your hard drive. You might want to change your download settings to save downloaded music in a file that's easy to locate.
There are 3 easy ways to play your downloaded songs with your MP3 player:
1). Drag and Drop: Open your player and find the MP3 file on your hard drive. Drag the music file icon into the player window. The song should play automatically. If it doesn't, try clicking on the "Play" button in the player window.
2). Double Click: If your MP3 file is already configured to your player, double clicking on the file icon will open it.
3). Open from the Player: You should be able to navigate your saved music files from within the player window and open your MP3s from there.
