Broccoli has become one of the few vegetables that is available year-round. Most of the broccoli sold in the Unites States is grown in California from March through December. During the winter months, November to March, broccoli is grown in the Yuma Valley in Arizona. Broccoli that is harvested during the cooler months can be stored the longest.
Because of its year-round availability, broccoli is a popular vegetable for export. Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan are among the countries where US broccoli is shipped. |
