Tangerines
Types
Tangerines are just one type in the mandarin orange family. These citrus fruits are smaller and sweeter than a regular orange, and they peel much easier too perfect for snacking! Here are some varieties you can try:

*Dancy Tangerine |
Dancy Tangerine Often considered the traditional “Christmas” tangerine in the United States, it has a sweet-tart flavor and lots of seeds. Its skin is a deep reddish-orange and very loose, making it easy to peel!

*Honey Tangerine |
Honey Tangerine Honey Tangerines have a high sugar content, which give it a rich, sweet flavor. The fruit is yellowish-orange in color, full of juice, and has a thin, smooth skin.

**Sunburst Mandarin |
Sunburst Mandarin One of the most attractive mandarins, this fruit has a deep reddish-orange color and an extremely smooth and thin skin.

**Minneola Tangelo |
Minneola Tangelo This type of Tangelo is also called a “Honeybell.” It’s actually a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit - cool!
The Minneola is easy to recognize by its large size and slightly elongated “neck” on one end. The fruit resembles a tangerine and is easy to peel. It is the most popular tangelo!
Did you know that Tasha Tangerine is actually a Tangelo? That’s right!

***Satsuma Mandarin |
Satsuma Mandarin If you are looking for a sweet, seedless mandarin try a Satsuma. They are delicious! Satsumas are carefully clipped from trees, so sometimes you can find them in the market with their stems and leaves still attached. Satsumas were originally imported form Japan.
